Woven lines, layered colour and light as a material. A small study in translating fabric into nail design.

A good textile invites a second look. A tiny interrupted thread or a cloudy layer can do the same on a nail. This edit borrows a way of looking at clothes, then turns it into original patterns at a much smaller scale.

Plum, rose and cocoa diamonds create an argyle rhythm with fine cream diagonals.
Tiny rust-coloured cross-stitch flowers and olive stems sit on a pale oat base.
Ivory running stitches outline denim-blue nails and frame lighter diagonal panels.
Fine ivory herringbone lines repeat over dusty rose, with narrow woven borders between them.
Thin charcoal pinstripes meet tiny wine-coloured bows on a warm nude base.
Windowpane checks, argyle diamonds and little stitched flowers each borrow a different rhythm from clothing. Denim-blue borders and rose herringbone make the theme more varied. Quieter neighbours give each pattern a little room to breathe.
